NEWS FOR TUESDAY NOVEMBER 30, 1999

The official site for "The Green Mile" is now well and trully underway. The above pictures came from there. (DH)

According to an intereview that cinescape has done with Ridley Scott on Hannibal... Well so far the final draft of the script is due on his desk later this week and the filming will start mid march. Maybe.. The ending will be changed because Ridley Scott was clearly not up to the challenge.(CSO) I dunno about everyone else but the rumours and talk about this film have been around long before the book even hit the shelves. It's really making the film look cheap IMHO. I'd hate the script to be changed from that of the book to suit an actor that is in it. Basically the idea that Scott will be changing the ending to this film to suit something he finds "a little hard to swallow" is wrong.. As a director he should make the audience swallow the ending to the book. Espeacially if the reader of the book can believe what becomes of Hannibal and Clarice. I can see it happening.. Sorry to talk in clues and riddles.. But I like the ending of the book. I think it adds some purity to the character of Clarice and a kind of insanity and change that she goes through.. Sorry just babbling now:).

The Creepy house used in "The Blair Witch Project" has been ordered to be demolished because of the state that it is in. The house is in Patapasco state Park in MAryland if you are looking for it.. You only have a short time to get out there and have your phot taken in front of it.. Because thereafter it will be demolished. At least you will be able to see it in TBWP. (CSO)

Flight 180 has gone through a name change.. It is now known as Final Destination. The film will hit cinemas in the USA on March 17 and is currently having the ending re-crafted. Seems New Line wants a couple of choices. Now All I can think of is the great bonus footage the DVD will have for this film when it finally releases. (CSO)

I got this email forwarded to me about another INDIE HORROR film.. From my fav sub genre.. ZOMBIES.. It's called

URBAN FLESH

Since all of you are related to the movie business, I thought you might like to know that my new movie; URBAN FLESH is now out. It premiered on November
6th, here in Montreal. Things are going great for us thus far and the fans really love the movie.

URBAN FLESH is a gory cannibals movie set in the city. It involves many cool scenes including one with a pregnant woman and her unborn baby as well as severed arms, shovels on the head, knife fighting, chests opened up, gut munching and a lot of other crazy stuff. In the tradition of Lucio Fulci's movie, URBAN FLESH is stylish and very energic. It has many daring camera moves and lightings as well as a great cast lead by B.A.R.F.'s singer Marc Vaillancourt, Mireille Lévesque, Anthony Pereira (Tale Of The Urban Werewolf) and Martin Dubreuil (Low Life). URBAN FLESH was shot on video in 1997 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The official wbesite is still under construction.

The movie is now available from THE INDY FILM DEPOT at www.leatherface.com ,
from Ron Bonk's B-MOVIE THEATER at www.b-movie.com,
from THE CLOVISCOMPANY by mail and on it's website
and from THE ASYLUM-B-MOVIES at www.fortunecity.com/lavender/halloween/829
Reviews will appear on B-MOVIE THEATER, KEVIN LINDENMUTH'S OFFICIAL WEBSITE and on THE ASYLUM-B-MOVIES very soon. New distributors and reviews will be announced soon.

CAST

Kane...

This guy is a natural. Martin gets into the skin of the character like
no other. This passionated actor appeared in QuÈbec's cult-classic
Elvis Gratton 2 as well as in many successful short films and in the
Deux frËres TV-series on TVA.

MARC VAILLANCOURT
Ygor...

Best know for his work as the singer and leader of the hardcore band
Blasting All Rotten Fuckers, Marc is one of the most respected and
adulated man on the Montreal underground scene. His energy spreads like
a plague and his charisma is incredible. In 1997/1998, he was starring
in Gisele; La Maudite amour s‚le..., a dance performance that had the
critics raving. He is actually promoting B.A.R.F.'s newest albums;
Cathaxis and the best selling B.A.R.F. LIVE.

MIREILLE L…VESQUE
Samantha...

We will be able the appreciate this wonderful actress in the movie
version of the hit children TV-series; Pimpon next year. Always busy
working on various professional projects, Mireille is a real pro and her
talent is one of the best kept secret in the QuÈbec movie and TV
industry. She is a real gem and you'll discover that with Urban Flesh.

MARIE-EVE PETIT
Sally...

Marie-Eve is not just a very cute girl. She is also a talented young
actress that will stop at nothing to deliver the best performance. She
made numerous appearance in short films and indy productions. She may
very well be one of the next scream queens of the industry...

ANTHONY PEREIRA
Zack...

His friends call him "Psycho"... Tony is a wonderful actor and his
performance as Zack in Urban Flesh is one you'll remember for a very
long time. His eyes and his body do most of the talk and he delivers
what most actors are unable; true depth to the character. He worked in
many stage plays, short films, indy movies and major productions.

KLAUDE "MAX" LAVIGNE
Vincent...

This actor can look very tough on screen even though he is a very sweet
man. He made a very credible "burned-out" police inspector in Urban
Flesh. Klaude appreared in many TV-series as well as on a lot of short
films since 1996.

NEWS FOR MONDAY NOVEMBER 29, 1999

News about Resident Evil the movie has popped up on DH. This time it is news of the second draft. The second draft is a lot like the Romeroa Draft which followed the story of Chris Redfield(member of S.T.A.R.S) and Jill Valentine as they kick zombie ass. However in the Romero version teh zombies are invincible and can only be killed through a grizzly kind of Dismemberment. Also, the Romero version is set in a house and both Jill and Chris are attacked all night untill they decide to blow up the Boiler room, so as to take everyone OUT.. The Second draft however, not written by Romero, follows the style of the Living Dead TRilogy. Zombies can be killed by a shot to the head, Chris and Jill search through a mansion blowing up all the zombies until they get to a head Zombie thing and blow it up causing all the other zombies to stop being zombies. Clearly the Romero draft was better than this, and at least sounded scary. (DH)

According to a scooper at DH, UL2 will be finished shooting onm December 16. (DH)

A New poster has arrived for "Scream 3" from DH.

Jason X / "Friday the Thirteenth: Part ten" more news on the Sean S. Cunnnigham film has popped up on Fridaythe13th.com . The news is kind of exciting as the film is not set at a campsite, however it is set in a space station 500 years from now. It deals with aVR version of Jason and his Hockey mask according to a scooper on DH. Sounds kind of like a simulated slaughter on a space station in a galaxy far far far away in a time beyond our own. Check out this link on Jason X.

Pitch Black Trailer Mov. This film was shot in Queensland, the state that I reside in. But out in the Desert, where it is too hot to live.

NEWS FOR THURSDAY NOVEMBER 25, 1999

 Mission to Mars Teaser

2.9 meg mov.

Official site.

March 10 2000 Us release date

A tipster at Cinescape online got some news on the advancement of Hannibal. "Ciao, my name is Matteo, and I'm writing from Florence, Italy. During the same days my city hosted Clinton and other big heads of state, we got a visit from someone more important. Ridley Scott was in town! Along with producer Dino de Laurentiis, he scouted various locations for the movie Hannibal. I haven't read the book, so I don't know the location he was looking for, but the interview I watched was clearly taken close by a balcony of Palazzo Vecchio. De Laurentiis announced that ALL the major players from the first movie will come back (actually, he said "from the second", being the first Manhunter). He also said that this will be the only film to focus directly on Hannibal, while the others blah, blah blah. Then, fortunately, the journalist interviewed Scott, who simply talked on how Harris has lived in Florence for many years - I know for a fact that he attended various times the trial to "the monster of Florence " - and that, to him, the only thing that matters is, and I quote, ‘script, script, script.’" Kind of interesting to see how the film is quickly becoming a bigger mystery every day. How will this film be made? Will it be based on the book? Will Ridley Scott put in some kind of Alien?? (CSO)

Omega Code 2.. The original is still to hit most of the world but already there is talk of a sequel to the film that stars Casper Van Dien. However whether Van Dien or Michael York return for the sequel is yet an unknown. There is an interesting quote in Cinescape about the direction of Providence Entertainment and there BIG SHOT producer and his visions for the film world. "Victor Vanden Oever revealed that the next film will have "a bigger cast, and more special effects. If we put the pieces together as we plan, it'll be about 18 months hence." Oever also told the columnists that due to the steadily spiraling costs of making feature films his low budget niche product may get out in limited release and still be successful. The genres he’s directing his product at is said to be "-- family, Christian, Hispanic and country." Seems Victor is trying to bring some sort of Identity into his films.(CSO)

Shadowman will star ICE CUBE in the lead role. This film based on a comic/ computer game by Acclaim will be written by writer/producer Michael Henry Brown (In To Deep, Dead Presidents)and writer/director/producer Paul Aaron (In too Deep, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, Maid in America).According to Dave Ellito of the Takoma Entertainment company the film will go into pre-production in January y2k. (CSO)

Fearsum the TV series being developed by Haxan Films (Blair Witch Guys) is about a bloke that runs a web site dedciated to strange phenomenon. Keeping on this theme FOX/HAXAN are creating a real website to go with the film that will be opened months before the pilot goes to air. The website has been dubbed by Fox prez Peter Cherin as part of their "Original Programming". Adding to my theory that TV studios are now being smart enough to realise that the web is unregulated broadcast and they can do so much more if they only would try. For TV to prosper it will need to go digital and have a symbiotic relationship with the internet. So There.

NEWS FOR WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24, 1999

According to Cinescape Online and MANIA website Tim Burton is looking to do another stop motion film (like The Nightmare Before Christmas, which insidently we are screeing at Boggo Road this Christmas). The film will be called "The Corpse Bride" and I'm sure it will contain the same kind of wacky humour that we have come to expect from Tim Burton. As per usual I'm guessing there will be a dog (Burtons trademark) some place in there as well. (CSO)

Channel 7's Great Outdoors did a segment on the Ghost Tours and Horror Film Nights at the good old Boggo Road Gaol. Check out the Coverage HERE.. Check out the FILM NIGHTS HERE. Check out GHOST TOURS here.

Gabriel Byrne has said the following about his role as the devil in END OF DAYS. , "In End of Days what I'm really playing is the devil who's saying, ‘I'm not the bad guy here, I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do.’Determined not to be too heavy about the film, though, Byrne dismisses the project saying, "It's just a movie at the end of the day… It's not an examination of the nature of good and evil. It's a shoot-'em-up.". This quote comes from Cinsecape Online. (CSO)

Danny Devitio will be is likely to be the man in charge of "Revelations" a supernatural thriller being produced by Warner Bros and Village Roadshos and the Canton Co.. According to Variety and CSO "The eventual film will tell the story of a cop who takes a bullet intended for a Catholic cardinal during a St. Patrick’s Day ceremony. As the man recovers he re-examines his own religious beliefs with seemingly startling results given the genre.". Those startling results could be some what of a revelation I'm guessing. (CSO)

NEWS FOR TUESDAY NOVEMBER 23, 1999

A test screening for the film "CUT" went ahead in HOYTS BROADWAY.. The Australian film looks to be a hit.. According to a scooper in.. the plot outline goes like this.. In a word, the film rocked! The basic storyline is about a slasher film director, played by Minogue, who gets murdered by the actor playing the serial killer in her latest movie Hot Blooded. Cut to a number of years later. The film was never completed, and any attempt to screen it coincides with a grisly murder. A group of film school students decide to get the rights to it and finish the film. So they raise some money and bring out the lead actor from LA (played by Molly Ringwald) to finish her part. She's older, a little washed up, and doesn't want to be there, a feeling reinforced when the killer starts to take out the film crew one by one on the isolated mansion set they are shooting on. . Peter the reviewer puts out a great positive review for the film.. Check it out HERE. (DH)

FOUR different writers are working for ARTISAN writing BLAIR WITCH 2. However they are not working together they are working seperately.. It is a competition now. (CSO) I think this film will go the way of Freddy Vs. Jason.. Procrastination.

### FASCINATING I go away for a weekend and nothing happens.. Note to self. See CUT..

NEWS FOR FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18, 1999

"Hellraiser V and VI" will be penned by Scott Derrickson (UL2), Derrickson will also direct both of them. The film is set to star Craig Sheffer(The Grave and Nightbreed), Nick Turturro(NYPD BLUE) and James Remar(What Lies Beneath, Tales From the Darkside and Psycho98), it has been subtitled INFERNO. This will not be the first film that Remar has starred in that is called INFERNO the telly movie released last year with the same name was about some solar abnomally that caused the heat to rise to fatal heights. (DH)

"Blair Witch 2" moves ahead slowly. Artisan have gotten Jon Bokenkamp to hand in a script for a possible sequel. The script will be handed in early next year. This does not mean the HAXAN guys will be in the lurch at all. Sacnhez and Myrick are still working on HOL and FEARSUM the FOX tv show. (CSO)

Johnny Depp has recently talked to SALON magazine about working with Christopher Lee in Sleepy Hollow. Depp revealed that the veteran actor was intimidating, saying, "You are looking into the eyes of Dracula and he's about to jump down your throat, and it's real, and it's scary.".(CSO). Depp also went on to talk about the preperation and the way it was like Edward ScissorHands. "When I read a script and it's something that grabs hold of me immediately, I start getting these flashes of people or places or things or images. For [Edward] Scissorhands, for instance, I kept thinking of dogs I had as a child, you know, and newborn babies. With Sleepy Hollow it was the sort of drive that Basil Rathbone had as Sherlock Holmes -- to take that and use that, but what's going on behind that is total and utter confusion. Whereas Basil Rathbone knew exactly what he was talking about -- he hit every note -- Ichabod would hit it but would, in fact, miss it.". He mentioned as well in the interview that the film was very much like a DRACULA (1931) styled film. "It is exactly the formulaic structure of that type of movie. We're twisting it here, bending it there, pushing it around and bullying it a bit. We're trying to take it a step further but at the same time not being disrespectful to that structure and formula and saluting the people who have done good work in it."
. (CSO)

Robert Duvall has joined the cast of the film about Arnold Schwartzenegger's CLONE vs himself film, "The Sixth Day" the film will also star Michael Rappaport, Sarah Wynter and one of my fav actors Michael Rooker. (CSO)

There is worries on the effects of a film about to be shown on NBC titles Y2k. The Edison Electrical Intstitute is worried that the film will spark unnecessary alarm amongst the people who view it. The EEI want to see a discalimer saying HOW FICTIONAL the film is. Also they would like to see TV counter programming (ie: Our city is prepared for Y2K no need to worry, type news stories). The NBC will not be doing counter programming instead they released a statement saying. "[t]his is a fictional movie and we're assuming our audience will be able to tell the difference between reality and fiction. Regardless, the network does still plan on airing a disclaimer during commercial breaks that will read:

"This program is a purely fictional thriller. The characters and situations are not based on fact. This program does not suggest or imply that any of these events could actually occur."

It's interesting to see a TV stationnn dismiss the effect it has on people but quickly admit that it has effects on people in the next breath. Funny old world. Advertising rates will go throuhg the roof on this one. (CSO)

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD was honoured on the 18th and added to the NATIONAL FILM REGISTRY (USA).Librarian of Congress James Billington said "Our film heritage is America's living past. It celebrates the creativity and inventiveness of diverse communities and our nation as a whole. By preserving American films, we safeguard our history and build toward the future." I'm sure he meant to say that Our film heritage is America's Living Dead Trilogy. :) (HO)

NEWS FOR WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16, 1999

Emily Mortimer has said the following in Vanity Fair about the casting for "Scream 3". "The audition was just so silly. There I am, suddenly transplanted in L.A., sitting in a corridor full of girls with cutesy T-shirts and big blond hair. I'm given a sheet of paper with five lines on it which I then go in and read to the casting agent. I didn't give a shit and it was all stupid and hilarious and she goes, 'My God, you're so right for this part.' It's such an unlikely thing but somehow the perfect thing for me to be doing." (CSO) If you haven't checked out the SCREAM3 official site.. Do yourself a favour.. And see the best attempt at a film website that MIRAMAX/DIMENSION has ever done. Very post-blairwitch.com .

The new supernatural TV series "The Others" will premiere on NBC in the US on February 2nf. It has been put together by Jmaes Wong (X-Files) and Glenn Morgan also one of carters Lap Dogs.. It will have a 10 pm timeslot so expect the show to have some kind of GRIT. (CSO)

ILM has announced some of the best news I have heard in a long while. "Frankenstein CGI" has had the plug pulled. It seems public reaction can make an impact. "The plug was officially pulled by Universal Studios on the fully CG animated Frankenstein feature that ILM had been working on for the past year and a half. This came as a bit of a surprise considering that writer/director Stephen [Sommers], who had such a smash hit this summer with The Mummy for Universal, had been brought in to write a new script for the [Frankenstein] film. His screenplay seemed to infuse the project with new life and there was even talk that [Sommers] might direct.

"ILM had begun to ramp up production and build up the Frankenstein staff again. It was quite a shock for some when the news broke. As many artists as possible will be rolled over into other productions." This appeared on the force.net and (CSO)

Michael Jackson is said to be starring in a film made in Canada. Okay now that is scary. But he will be playing Edgar Allen Poe. Now that is just stupid. Well I wish he'd just beat it. A film that will not be talked about any further on this page untill Michael Jackson for some reason leaves the film. I'm not even going to tell you the title.

This amazing shot from "Sleep Hollow" has turned up on Darkhorizons. It came with DH's interview with the Director and legend Tim Burton. The film premieres on Wednesday night in the US at the big GALA thing.(DH)

Andrew Levitas from Party of Five, has commented on his roll in "Psycho Beach Party". In an interview with TV Guide online, he said "My character, a surfer named Provoloney, is someone who flies off the handle real quick. So when people start dying around him he's got some serious issues, to say the least. He also deals with some sexuality issues all the way through the movie. So, really, he doesn't know who he is and doesn't find himself until the very end of the movie.". He also talked a little about the filming of the film. "I mean, we shot on the beach for five weeks, six weeks, seven weeks — whatever it was! You're talking about great actors hanging out with great material that's real loose and real over the top and real campy and real fun. The best comedy comes when you are having a good time.". Sounds like the film has completed its shoot and sounds it also sounds like this will be a real hoot. The film also stars, Lauren Ambrose (can;t Hardly Wait), Thomas Gibson, (EWS) and Nicholas Brendon (Xander from Buffy). (DH)

"What Lies Beneath" is currently being shot in hangars that once held Howard H's Spruce Goose. The Hangars that Dreamworks tried to buy and convert into a studio earlier this year. According to Variety in one of the hangars is a HUGE set that consists of an IRON BRIDGE. Construction of the set has been uinderway fro a few weeks. Dreamworks will be using the hangarts until the end of the year. (CSO)

"End of Days" has also been filmed in the old Spruce Goose Hangars. Info has come to light on the reshoot of the ending of the film. The reason fro the reshoot was due to concerns form religious leaders.. AS per usually the end of this Arnie film was All FULL of ARTILLERY and MORTARS and EXPLOSIONS.. Religiois leaders wanted it chaged to (Highlight the next section with your mouse if you want to know) Now, the new ending will be "spectacular and spiritual. The message is about peace and faith." NEWS FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 14, 1999

1999 is shaping into the BIGGEST critical year Horror has had since the 70s. Horror Fever has even struck in Australia, with the film TWO HANDS. Not only did it wipe out the competitors at the recent IF (Indie Filmmakers in Australia) but it also has a ZOMBIE in it.. Although many of the zombie scenes have been removed.

BRYAN BROWN

Heath Ledger

"Two Hands" has won HANDS DOWN at the "Australian Film Institute" awards.. Two Hands won in the following awards. The award ceremony was held at the recently opened FOX studios in SYDNEY.. And as per usual had all the glitz and glamour you would expect of Australia's counter culture.. No black Ties and suits to be seen.. Rather swanky looking gents and pretty girls.

BEST DIRECTOR : Gregor Jordan

BEST FILM : Two Hands

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY: Gregor Jordan

BEST PERFORMANCE FROM A SUPPORTING ACTOR: Bryan Brown.

BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN EDITNG: Lee Smith

See the coverage at the SBS web page. The at the show pictures of Brown (winner) and Ledger teh star are from there.

Check the official AFI page.

TWO HANDS OFFICIAL SITE.

When Two Hands was first released we realised it was going to be bgi.. IT was the first Australian film to HIT #1 at the domestic box office since the co-production of George Millers BABE.

The US release date has not yet been set. But pray that there is no customization done to this bit of Australian cinema. I ask that you sift through the Australian slang and accents.. Otherwise the film will just be another Australian film that is dumbed down (ala MAD MAX or The CASTLE) which will cause the film to loose part of the film.

This is not the first bit of acclaim the film has recieved.. In the US it went well at this years SUNDANCE film festival and was touted by MTV as a film to keep and eye out for.

On the right is a picture of co-stat Rose Byrne and Director/Writer award winner Gregor Jordan.

AOL will get the trailer from SCREAM 3 at 5 am next Tuesday.. It will than be available to everyone on the internet at www.scream3.com . (DH)

New pictures from "Supernova" have shown up on Darkhorizons. (DH)

The film that ED WOOD could not produce in life (I Woke Up Early the Day I Died) may not make it to Exhibition at cinemas or video. seems the company that owns it. AS the OFFICIAL SITE SAYS.. "By fault of ill management and poor financial planning, the distributors of this movie, Cinequanon, have run into astounding money troubles. It is our feeling that this movie will not see another theatre and may not even make it to tape. If you would like to get on the waiting list in the case that IWUETDID makes it to tape, please fill out the form here.".(HO) So if you are in Australia, you know this film was recently screened at the NOOSA film festival. One hours drive from where I live. So you can imagine how hard I am now kicking myslef in the butt for not going up and paying those CRAZY expensive NOOSA film Festival Prices. Hey maybe if I got free tickets I could have at least given the film HUGE review. But alas poor film, I could have seen it.. Oh well. If anyone has seen the film please send in a review.

Tim Burtons voiced his outrage over the R rating of "Sleepy Hollow" and the lack of the headless horsemen in the posters for the film. There was a fear that peopel would copy cat the horsemen. When on Howard Sterns radio show Burton has come up with the dazzling quote of the week. "Like everyone without a head is going to go out and cut people's heads off.".. (HO) Well I guess we can safely say commentary like this says more about the people who restrict (regulators), than the restricted (Tim Burton in this case).

NEWS FOR THURSDAY NOVEMBER 11, 1999

According to Horror Online, "I walked with a zombie" is another film that is about to be massacred by the dreade remakers of Hollywood. The intersting thing is that RKO ( one of the original 5 BIG studios from the SYSTEM period) is going to produce it. The original was made in 1943.

Ozzy Osborne will appear in teh horror comedy, "little Nicky". (HO)

Alice Cooper (Freddy's Dad, the guy that wrote a song about Dwight Frye, a legend) will be in "Attic Expeditions". (HO)

Sandra Bullock will be appearing in another GHOST story coming out of Hollywood called "Wildest Dreams". It is an MGM film so expect the film to gross some place in the 20-30 mill mark.. Just kidding MGM has had a pretty good year. We might see the lion roar again some day. The script was bought for a 6 figure sum and was written by Kristin Rusk and Ian Deitchman. (HO)

Attic Expeditions is set now for a Halloween 2000 release according to Horror Online. The film starring Seth Green was ranted about at the begining of the year when the film used "The Blair Witch Project" in the Meta-name keywords (only available when looking at source code, seen by spiders from search engines) for the official site in the hope of getting extra hits. Guess what Blair Witch is still there in the meta-tag.. Haha.. somethings never change.. Actually.. I'm just going to post the Keywords because they are so funny.. for this film.. You'll pee yourself.. Really.. I'm not saying that the film will be bad, but they are really going all out to get traffice from search engines.. I think I'm going to make this my meta-tag one day.. Get ready to read it.. PARENTAL ADVISORY>> SOME EVIL WORDS ARE CONTAINED WITHIN.

EARLY EDITION NEWS FOR TUESDAY NOVEMBER 9, 1999

Above are pictures from the next Roman Polanski feature film "The 9th Gate" from Cinescape Online. The film is being released through Artisan (TBWP, CUBE). The supernatural thriller will star Johnny Depp who has said of the project, "It was not an easy film to make. Roman is pretty set in his ways. I'd heard things about his methods, but I decided to see for myself… He didn't tell me how to say my lines. If he had, I'd probably be in some French jail, but he's definitely out there in his own world." (CSO).

One of the largest SHORT film festivals in the world, TROPFEST, has announced its topic for this year.. All short films must include reference to a bug. Imagine the kind of exposure TROPFEST could mean for you.. Of course I'd encourage you to make a film about a bug that basically kills everything in it's site. But hey, I'm a horror fan.

NEWS FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 7, 1999

A prequel to "The Excorcist"? We haven't heard much about it since back in 1997. But according to DrCAsey "Exorcist: Dominion" will be made by MORGAN CREEK productions, who has signed on Tom McLoughlin (Friday the 13th part 6: Jason Lives and Sometime They Come BAck)to direct it. NEWS FOR SATURDAY NOVEMBER 6, 1999

"Freddy Vs. Jason" or JASON X.. The following article popped up on Cinescapes Insider News.
After months of rumors that a second Jason movie called Jason X was in the works, New Line has announced that development on the film has started. One can't help but wonder how this project affects the developmentally challenged Freddy Vs. Jason project.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sean Cunningham, one of the creators of the Friday the 13th franchise, is finishing up his script for Jason X and will turn both it and a budget into New Line by the end of this week. Furthermore, the trade reports that at that time, New Line will determine which of the two potential Jason films will get the greenlight. Should his project get the go-ahead, Cunningham will produce as well.
As for Freddy Vs. Jason, that problem project has been in development for years with most recent word being that the current script by James Robinson is in the hands of Mark Verheiden (The Mask), who is doing a rewrite. New Line production prez, Michael DeLuca, recently revealed to the Insider that rumors that the two characters were not meshing in the script were not true, though he did explain that the script had "a phony copycat Freddy killer" which was likely to be removed. At this time, Verheiden's pass on the script is expected to be finished by month's end.
Whichever of the two projects that gets the thumbs up is expected to hit theater screens in the fourth quarter of 2000.

Now I know why Jason looks so confused in this photograph.. By the way that is Kane Hodder somewhere under there.

"Hungry Like The Wolf", the story of a female werewolf in New York will be turned into a film by Alexis Prdustions. Kelley Armstrong has yet to write the book but has submitted an 80 page propsal. The story follows the werewolf an her love for another werewolf, but also her love for human. Well this is one threesome that will be pretty hairy.. Oh, that was sour I know. (CSO)

"Hangman" is the lovely story of an INTERNET stalker who kills everytime a young woman is unable to solve one of his hangman games across the NET. The film will Star Lou Diamond Phillips and Madchen Amick. Phillips will be playing the detective after the killer.. DEstination films are producing this and I bet they hope Phillips can pull out another FIRST POWER type perfomance. The film is based on a script by Vladimir Nemirovsky. (CSO)

"Sherlock Holmes and the Vengeance of Dracula" well this script has been bought for 700,000 dollars, by Columbia pictures. It is written by newcomer Michael Valle. It is set to be an action adventure in the style of the recent "The MUMMY". (CSO) All I want to know is how are they going to cast his film. It is going to need big gun casting or it will FAIL.

Righteous comment of the week from an actress goes to "JODIE FOSTER". on "HANNIBAL". , "I’d stand to make more money doing that sequel than I've ever made in my life. But who cares if it betrays Clarice - who is a person, in some strange way to me ... I won't play her with negative attributes she'd never have." (CSO)

"DRACULA 2000" Patrick Lussier the latest in cool editors and Wes Craven are getting together to make a new version of Dracula to celebrate the changing of milleniums.. This will be the second time Craven has directed a Dracula film . The last one was called "Vampire in Brooklyn" and starred Eddie Murphy. Love to see the way he updates Dracula for the kiddies this time. (CSO)

"The House on Haunted Hill" has an additonal 2 minutes after the credit have finishe rolling.. MAKE SURE YOU WAIT AROUND FOR THEM.. They explain some important stuff the director chose to keep outside of the MAIN FILM. (DH)

"The Gift" written by Billy Bob Thornton (slingblade) and directed by Sam Raimi, WILL star Cate Blanchett and will begin filming next year in Savannah. For those who came late, it is about a psychic woman who helps to find missing people in a small Arkansas town. I;m guessing that the character is American not Asutralian, as the actress is an Australian, but we might get a surprise.

New trailer for "Sleepy Hollow" now available. (DH) These pictures are from it.
