"Suspiria" remake information has come to light on Darkhorizons this month. The 1977 Italian classis about WITCHES, was directed by Dario Argento. Argento was against the idea untill the PRICE was RIGHT. The two actresses going for the lead are currently Heather Donahue (TBWP) and Jessica Alba (Idle Hands), this film is so far budgeted at 17 million dollars, and Destination films will be handling this film that is destined to be a critical flop no matter what. How many times does Hollywood have to remake classics before they understand they should leave them alone?? "END OF DAYS" there is a fair bit of information on this big old motion picture since the page has been dormant. Pictures, posters and a few new trailers.. The film is set to release on November 24 in the USA. Gabriel Byrne is Satan looking for his bride in this film, as Satan often does in Ascention type films.    
"COLD HEARTS" screened at the Atlatic City Film Festival and this is what the poster looked like.. Pretty darn cool. The video release of this film has yet again be delayed.. I do not know why they have not just thrown caution to the wind and released this at the cinema.??  "FLIGHT 180" new pictures came to light on Darkhorizons.. On Horror Online this on the STORY. ). After taking to the sky the aircraft does indeed crash, killing all on board, although it would appear that those who escaped the flight's terminal fate have not escaped their own, as one by one they begin to die. Are their demises to be attributed to lurid coincidence, a cheated fate or something more malevolent? You'll have to wait and see.    "Lost Souls" will be released in February 4 of next year.. But untill than give the poster a once over if you like.  Not entirely horror.. But very DARk.. "Dungeons and Dragons" have released some pictures that you all might like.     Some picture of teh Sci-Fi horror Flick "PITCH BLACK" have appeared on Dark Horizons.    Poster, picture, TV advert and trailer for "The House on Haunted Hill" which opened at #1 at the Box office.
"Freddy Vs. Jason" another month when the rumors for this film were high on the gossip lists. Robet Englund said on the projects current status, "Oh yeah,that film should have been out by now, but they're doing a complete rewrite because they want it to be just right before we start it. I've heard that it will have alternate endings,so different audiences will see different versions. I've been waiting to do this for a year,and it might be out for summer 2000" The idea of alternate endings depending on the screening that yoo go to could proove to be brilliant and it will impact greatly on the way further sequels to either series are made. They will need to do alternate beginnings to the next sequels to compensate, which in itself is a great concept as well. Sounds like FvJ could really be more excuting than it already is, but with this many delays it had better be GROUND breaking stuff. (DH) "Angel" the TV series launched with a handy market share during October, but still there are going to be changes made. Quinn will be out of the show very quickly, Cordelia is going to move to a HAUNTED apratment and ANGEL will loose all the gadgets he's carrying around. Quionns character DOYLE will actually die if reports are correct. Episode 9 is the final DOYLE episode. "Buffy" from all review the writing on the series has improved and the so has the sexual and university humor. One episode to keep an eye out for is "Beer Bad" whcih will see a bunch of folk go primordal like after drinking beer. This is also the epsiode that sees the shake up of the OZ character, and will lead to the dissolve of Oz in the series as Seth is getting out. "From Dusk Till Dawn: Hangmans Daughter" premiered on HALLOWEEN at The Egyptian theatre. The prequle to the massive cult hit. It is unknown if the film will get a wide release, it stars Rebecca Gayheart and explores the character Santana. Of course I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong. (HO) "Hitcher 2", in 1986 the Hitcher first got into the back seat of nice peoples cars in 1986..... He's gonna start hitching again.. Will Hauer will reprise the role in this film as THE HITCHER. Geral DiPego has written the film along with his sons, it is ini a SCREAM meets USUAL SUSPECTS according to Variety columnist, Michale Flemming. Variety goes on to say, "Hauer has brought director Harmon back for the sequel - Hauer's been developing remake for some time; Harmon, who helmed the original, just came aboard to work on a sequel script written (by DiPego). Through foreign sales, they have already acquired enough capital to make the movie, and are negotiating with a domestic distributor. They'll begin production next summer, and though Hauer's evil thumb-waving murderer was blown up pretty convincingly in the original, he'll be back, taking aim at the SCREAM crowd." "Most believe that black magic is a very dangerous practice. An early American scholar once said, 'the sins of one witch shall be cast down on their descendants, including the innocents that surround them.' In the year 289 A.D., a man by the name of Delini Nicholus was born into a very wealthy family. Delini's father died when he was 45 years old. At the time of his death, his father was a very devout Christian. The Catholic Church was dominant in the southern portion of Turkey during this period. Delini chose to follow in his father's religious footsteps. Delini would creep into the homes of the poor and deposit gold coins into the stockings, which were drying above their fireplaces. In the morning when these lucky villagers would awaken, there would be hundreds of pounds of gold coins in their stockings. Nicholus became obsessed with helping the less fortunate. He could be heard praying to God. It was during this time when Nicholus began to perform miracles. He began to raise children from the dead. LITTLE NICKY, Adam Sandler is trying his hand at a supernatural Comdey, 'a young demon (Sandler) who embarks on a journey from hell to New York City to find his runaway brother (Ifans), now wreaking havoc on Earth. The brother had left home after a fight with their father, Satan (Harvey Keitel), who refused to let him take over the family business.'. The film also stars, Harvey KEitel and Rhys Ifans. (HO) Johnny Domino, Little story about a vampire that becomes a rock star and still has to deal with all the ordianry vampire stuff, possibly starring, Jonathon Rhys Meyers and Clair Forlani, directed by Enda Hughes, written by Max Chipcahase. Is about to go into production in Europe(HO). Scream 3, the sneak trailer should be appearing at the end of October. Parker Posey will be playing the role of an actres playing the role of Gale Weathers in the film. Eliza Dushku is not in the film according to Wes Craven.. UNBREAKABLE, is the title of the next film project that Willis and MIDNIGHT will be working on. Accordint to Horror Online, . The story apparently will revolve around the plight of a Philadelphia blue-collar worker (Bruce Willis) who learns something 'extraordinary about himself after a devastating accident.' As previously reported (see HorrorOnline report date 10/13), Samuel L. Jackson is expected to star opposite Willis, with shooting slated to kick off in Pennsylvania this April., looks like some more thinking horror if you ask me.. Modern Vampires is now in video stores in the USA. Joe Johnston is looking to remake a Horror Classice "THEM" about those giant bloody ants.. Yet again I thikn remakes should be stamped out yadda yadda.. Do a sequel.. "Them again", the title comes free from me.. Just don't remake them please.. John Carpenters "Ghosts of Mars", a sci-fi thriller that is penned by Carpenter about a bunch of colonist that become possessed by a martian ghosts.. Kind of like "The Thing" cept it is set on another planet by the sounds. But will this mean the JC wil not be working on H2K as reported last month?? (HO) A new twilight zone clone will be coming out of the US.. it is titled "BACK IN BLACK" and will be produced by teh VH1 network. According to HorrorOnline. Nicholas Brendon (xander from Buffy) has gone one record about the plot of "Psycho Beach Party". "It was like a GIDGET meets SCREAM kind of thing, and I played this character of Starcat. It was awesome. It was a lot of fun. I'm really nervous about it because it's a period piece. It should come out next year. Lauren Ambrose is in it; she's amazing at playing the Chicklet character. I need to see it, before I can talk about it. It was a lot of fun, and I got a free surfboard out of it." So it looks like we are going to go back a decade or 3 in the film. Pretty cool. Bruckheimer (BAD BOYS, THE ROCK) is going into the HORROR biz.. He has bought the rights to "Beware the Night". Which is a manuscript at the moment written by NYPD veteran Ralph Sarchie and journo Lisa Collier Cool. It is based on Sarchies real life X-files type investigations in his spare time, expect true stories of, ; 'real-life cases of demon possession, exorcisms and werewolves in the concrete canyon-lands of New York,'told from the police officers point of view THIS IS A SPECIAL OCTOBER NEWS BULLETIN. Brought 2 you by Dendy.. kinda.(the Australian folks putting TBWP around) First in local news.. "He Died With a Felafel in His Hand" is being made into a feature film around Brisbane. It will star Noah Tayleor (Shine & True Love and Chaos). It will be directed by Richard Lowenstein (Dogs in Space).. Kind of like Dogs in Space the book written by John Birmingham looks at the pschological and physical chaos of shared house living.. The Author is from Brisbane and the house it is based on is actually in New Farm (insider knowledge). Noah Taylor will be playing the role of a writer named Danny who returns home to find said dead white guy on ground, clutching a Felafel. The Brisbane scenes will be shot at a Queenslander in Annerly (not the forementioned New Farm). The film is set in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.. The Melbourne scenes will be shot in Sydney's suburb of Glebe.. But the Brisbane scenes will be set in Brisbane.. Especially after last years shooting of a Brisbane suburb in Sydney in the film "Praise" which really didn't work. The film will also star French Actress Romane Bohringer (The Apartment, Rembrandt) and Emily Hamilton (Haunted 1995, The Ruby Ring). The price of this film is 4 million.. Shooting begins next week in Sydney.
"Two Hands" has scooped the pool of nominations at this years Australian Film Institute awards.. 11 nominations in all. The awards are handed out in November at a huge function at FOX studios in Sydney. That is absolutely amazing. And the film has a zombie in it to boot.. The diretor Gregor Jordan has also reportedly picked up a 3 film deal in Hollywood with someone??

On the 10th of December there will be advanced Midnight screenings.. And the official release is still for the 16th of December.. IT will open wide.. Not just in limited release. Trent's got some really funky architechture. I'm going to attach a few pics of the uni for you. Trent's divided up in to 5 "Colleges" (residences) and the college that they're using in Champlain which also happens to be mine. Right now, there's doing all sorts of construction for the set outside which is kind of cool. hopefully these pics will be interesting for you to see (also check out www.trentu.ca for some other pics). Except for 10.jpg (top) and 11.jpg (bottom), they are all of the area where the set is currently being constructed. 11.jpg gives a good view of the tower (far left of the pic) that will be used for the final scene. It's a distance shot of Champlain College. It's a really beautiful campus, but has some kick ass jagged edges to it as well.      Now for a quick NEWS at a GLANCE. I just received a not from "Hollywood Video" that was not exactly great news. Well here it is unedited. After careful consideration of requests to carry the film The Dividing Hour, we have made a decision not to purchase the movie at this time. Please know that Hollywood Video is dedicated to providing opportunity to independent producers, it is unfortunate that we cannot carry all titles. Sincerely, Aaron Phillips, Customer Relations. But if I was a member of this video store (which I am not because I live in Australia) I would put the plastic video card in an oven and turn it into a shrinky (do they have cards or keyrings?). Than after lightly cooked I would nail it to my front fence as a warning to other video stores. Now I'm not suggesting a BOYcott.. But you as horror fans have you're own free will. You choose what you think is the best action to take.
In other news.. @rena's Graveyard shift is running a huge competition for "The Blair Witch Project".. This is an Australian competition however it does not stipulate in the terms and conditions that it is only open to Australian residences. I get to feel duped already.. But I'd like to thank DENDY as I've heard they are sending me a Dossier and Village as I think they still have a ticket stashed away someplace for me.
"Scream if You Know What I Did Last Summer: has had its title changed to ""Scary Movie". Fans of Scream will know that this was the Screenplay title for the film that lauched Kevin Williamsons career. Hellraiser 5 is being made by Dimension.. Also in a twist there could be a TV show spin off created by Chris Carter. We'll just ahve to waite and see.. Whay kind of PAIN that will bring.

Friday the 1st of October 99    The official site for "The Bone Collector" is now open. (DH) "Resident Evil" may become the
next Tom Savini project.. The following popped up at his official site. I have the difficult task of making the final decision on whether or not my firm will, invest/work on the project. I must say that this will be a difficult thing for me, yet I have a few months to decide. Capcom did say that Resident Evil is definitely a go. They have raised more then 25 million for the project (mostly from themselves), and there might be another 15, that I know of, from a third party. Plus whatever my firm will invest. This reminds me so much of another project I did work on in the late 80’s, and yet the small time director did stay on to do another writers script. The film was a success and it did make me alot of money. But all of these things in the movie business are just a crap shoot". (DH) Here is a nice "Scream 3" rumor that appeared on Darkhorizons. 'Jet' here from the set of "Scream 3". The "Stab 2" poster will be seen during the film, in a scene where a bus has passed by. "Stab 3" is in production and let's just say the killer is nearby. Surprise ending and shocking middle. The story is a bit centred more towards Gale, but Sidney will have a say. The body count will be lower than "Scream 2", and I'll just say 'expect the least expected'. Also, there are a few cameos, and Kelly Rutherford's character is quite surprising. Cotton Weary's scene is very slim. I'd like to tell you more since filming has finished, but I was only allowed on some sets." (DH) "Cherry Falls" the latest film from Romper Stomper director Geoffrey Wright, is due out in the 2nd week of January.. The film is coming out under ARTISAN and ROGUE.. A trailer is expected soon. A poster will be circulating soon.. And the film is dubbed as ART/HORROR at the moment.. (DH) "FLight 180" will have a soundtrack that includes music by melodic punk bands Blink 182 and Pennywise. Apparently it will be filmed in winter and is in need of the snow.. Still a rumor.. I personally hope that the sequel does not go into production for at least 5 years..
